Update Your Own BlackBerry

Yesterday my friend updated his Old BlackBerry 8900 running BlackBerry OS 4.6 to OS 5, before it had MIDP 2.0 now its MIDP 2.1 (this means it can run applications it didn't before)

Battery life has been improved so much that I want to give him my android. With Twitter, Facebook, BBM, Whatsapp, Viber and TrueCaller Apps running for an average of 28 hours, is a apex in Smartphones World.

Application to application integration which RIM knows how to utilize in their products is even better with this upgrade, the fact that you can share whatever you install in your Smartphone is just great (and Bossy)

Great improvement is in the Media section of the phone, sound quality is flirtatious through good Headphones. Music player has REPEAT and SHUFFLE on "Now Playing" page - accessible with the trackball instead of earlier access through options. Album art is larger due to its movement from centre to the Left side of "Now Playing"
REPEAT has three options "off, current and all songs"
Watching Movies is even fun, touching the trackball will lightup keypads and minimize Fullscreen

Other improvements include Threaded Messages, Browser, Memory Use and Application View, Fonts and Homescreen.
Some T-Mobile variants (v5.0.0.900) come with Visual Voice Mail.. Oh No Did I just write a Review?

Goto the BlackBerry official page and Use the online update tool, Remember to delete Vendor.xml file found in C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/Apploader before you hit "Update" button.. Good Luck
