Insecurity In Eastleigh, Nairobi; Is Nyuma Kumi Initiative Really The Solution?

First and foremost 'THE KENYAN MIND' actualy supports the Initiative since Insecurity in Eastleigh is not a better idea compared with any idea contrary to it

No one needs A Life with any Hectic Nature, one that anytime you are buying fruits on your Favorite Mama Stall, there goes a bang, guess what? It is'nt a Naughty Child bursting Ballons, Nor is it a Car Tyre on a Compact Broken Glass..It is a grunade or maybe a Homemade Explosive.

How will "Nyumba Kumi" Help? When No Neighbor will allow anyone (except family and ethnic friend) to even peep, talk about Opaque Curtains. Nyumba kumi can only work in families who stay together, yeah not extended ones for some facts.

How will you ask your neighbor everytime he carries something Suspicious, like ''Hello there, oh and what are you carying there?, oh i know, its Vegetables'' just picture that and ask yourself if in this 21st Century, and where? yes, in Nairobi. How will your Neighbor think of you? No, he wont think(Unless you are really close), He may Ignore you for the rest of your life in the Neighborhood, with an excuse of you being 'insane'.

Eastleigh located in the East of Nairobi's Central Business District, Originally a Large Kenyan Asian enclave until Indepedence in 1963, Is predorminantly if not entirely, Inhabited by Somali Immigrants. If Insecurity was a Cake shared by the whole Nairobi, then Eastleigh could leave other Suburbs hungry.

It is the only place in Nairobi, where most of the terrorist attacks linked to Al-shabaab have taken place. Its time the Security Sector, yeah, the Pangani Policemen, to do their duties with even a little more Passion, the Same Passion they show when Night falls, as they make their way to Eastleigh with Heavy Guns and Empty but anticipating Pockets.

Grouping into Batches and Positioning themselves in Strategic Dark Corners. Where they will ambush every Somali person who will come into their 'Probox Traps', The same place an Indigenous person will pass confidently and freely, will be five thousand expensive for a Somali, who for some Reason; Does'nt have Identification Documents, Forgot to carry one, Does'nt speak Swahili fluently or, Just scared of what the Coxcomb faced Rakehells in Police Combat Uniforms may do. But what will one chose between an Assault from gun carying group in the dark, than to give away some couple thousands and be able to smile the next day? Ofcouse everyone needs that smile, in these times, a smile really matter.

Not to justify an Insolence; Corruption, but there's really NO better Option that can be seen in such darkness.

Can Nyumba kumi initiative work in such a place?, a place with Exorbitant Defience to Law by Law-Enforcers, a place with Extravagence in prejudice and excess in Pride among people, where Indegenious people are comtemptible in Somali's eyes and vice versa..i doubt.

Finally to avoid prolixity, and since We can only know our Neighbor for the imaginable flirting airs they bring, maybe the name of one of their children, or the Unfamiliar Radio station with a Dilect that always leaves us in oblivion, they always listen to loudly. I think that one solution can work to save our 'Little Mogadishu, the small town that, accounted for 25% of Nairobi City Council's Tax Revenues according to September 2012 reports

SOLUTION...
The Security forces should declare a 'State of Emergency' in Eastleigh and inspect all rooms of every building, you never know, they may even find an entire Artillery supply for the Army, and this will be a win-win situation for both the Peaceful people of Eastleigh, and for the Brave Kenyan Soldiers in Somali for AMISON.
