It was midway through the 21st minute of the match, Dynamo Kiev midfielder Oleh Husyev collided with the Dnipro goalkeeper's knee, was knocked unconscious and almost swallowed his tongue.
That's when Dnipro's Jaba Kankava immediately stepped into action and like a qualified paramedic, flipped Oleh's body over, and removed his tongue from his mouth to ventilate his lungs and thus saving his life.
Other opponents and teammates scrambled over to assist Husyev who was possibly seconds away from fatality. Oleh was taken to the
hospital afterwards, it was reported that he gained his health and even refused to be admitted, He got back to his team mates but with one teeth less.
Thanks to Kankava's
quick thinking, Oleh's life was saved.
